Facelifted Hyundai ix35/Tucson Makes an Appearance in Geneva

Hyundai recently announced it would be debuting an edited version of its new Hyundai ix35 at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Though this may not sound like much to get excited about, it certainly is! The ix35 is Europe's version of the Hyundai Tucson model sold in the United States. The changes to this new model may be a hint for the next Tucson here in the States.

So, just how important is the Hyundai ix35 to the European market? Well, it became the brand's fastest-selling model in its European history, and it's still incredibly popular with buyers today. In fact, more than 87,000 units of the model were sold in 2012. As Allan Rushforth, Senior Vice President and COO of Hyundai Motor Europe, explains, "The ix35 was an important model for Hyundai. With eye-catching fluidic sculpture form and European quality, it helped change perceptions of the Hyundai range in the region. [The] new ix35, with its enhanced powertrain line-up, interior refinements and sharper styling will appeal to a broad range of buyers in Europe."1
